Beef Jerky Original is ready to eat and will fill you up with protein.
Description
Beef jerky, a natural source of protein
Beef jerky is naturally high in protein and low in fat. This 25 g serving provides over 14 g of protein and less than 2 g of fat. Sugar-free, Indiana Beef Jerky lends itself well to consumption during long-duration effort, recovery or even, for Jerky lovers, as an aperitif. It's also appreciated during night sailing, to keep you awake: since sugary products can cause a spike in blood sugar levels and a big rush, jerky ticks all the right boxes at night.
Jerky VS Biltong, what's the difference?
Unlike biltong, jerky comes from a piece of meat (in this case, beef) cut into strips. These are then marinated and dried. The chew is harder on this type of product, which combined with the protein intake, reinforces the feeling of satiety.
A salty snack
The 25-gram portion is salted to improve preservation (about 1 g of Dead Sea salt). Consumption should be limited if you tend to over-indulge in salt throughout the day. That said, if you're involved in sporting activities, the presence of salt means you need to drink water, which is an advantage for those who tend to forget to hydrate, and helps to recover some of the salt lost through perspiration.
