Zpacks Duplex Zip backpacking tent - 2 people

The Duplex Zip is a minimalist tent designed for hiking. It consists of a single inner single-wall chamber and comes with guy lines to pitch it. To set it up, hiking poles are necessary. These poles replace the traditional tent poles. Simply place one at each entrance for the tent to stand. The setup is simple and very quick. The stakes are sold separately. Zpacks recommends a minimum of 8 stakes.

Almost identical to the Zpacks Duplex tent, the only difference is in the openings. In the other version, the doors close with a buckle. Now, the doors have a zip closure system for added convenience. Furthermore, when you open the doors, magnetic points allow them to be easily fixed. A practical feature that improves life at the camp.

For the rest, the same characteristics are found. In terms of materials, Zpacks uses dyneema which is more waterproof and resistant than materials traditionally used for tents (nylon, polyester). For comparison, nylon tents undergo additional treatment (based on PU and/or silicone) to achieve a waterproof rating of 1500 to 3000 mm. For the Duplex Zip, the water column is 15,000 mm. In other words, you will stay dry in case of rain.

Regarding the dimensions, the Duplex Zip has a length of 228 cm, long enough for a mattress and equipment at the feet. The width of 114 allows for two Regular size mattresses. Finally, the height of 122 cm is a real asset as it is possible to sit in the tent without touching the roof.
