Description
The Tarptent Stratospire 2 (mesh) is an ultralight trekking tent that can accommodate 2 people. It has the unique feature of being able to be set up with trekking poles while still being double-walled. This offers two advantages. Firstly, the mesh acts as a barrier against condensation, the main issue with single-walled tents. Your belongings will stay dry. Secondly, "pole-supported" tents are lighter than traditional dome tents because they don't require a separate pole.
The 2-person version with mesh weighs only 1154 grams (stakes not included). As for dimensions, the Stratospire 2 has a height of 122 cm, a width of 132 cm, and a length of 218 cm. This allows for two 64 cm wide sleeping pads without any issues. The manufacturer states that the length is suitable for people measuring less than 1.93 m. Additionally, the Stratospire 2 tent has a hexagonal-shaped floor. This design provides better wind resistance.
In terms of materials, the rainfly is made of 20 denier nano ripstop polyester, treated with silicone for good waterproofing. The floor, on the other hand, is made of 30 denier double ripstop nylon 66 and also coated with silicone to achieve a water column of 3000 mm.
