Description
The Valandré Bloody Mary sleeping bag is a reference in the outdoor industry. It is rated for a comfort temperature of -5.4°C according to the EN13537 standard, making it perfect for 3-season bivouacs in medium mountains. It can even be used during winter nights under the stars in flat areas.
The sleeping bag features interchangeable collars, meaning that if you get too hot, you can remove them to allow more air to circulate. This also helps to reduce weight.
The bag is made from Japanese Asahi Kasei fabric, which is nylon 6-6 known for its durability. While it may not be the lightest, it is very reliable and can withstand extreme conditions and wear and tear. The nylon is treated with DWR (Durable Water Repellent) to make it waterproof while still allowing breathability. The DWR used retains its water-repellent effect for up to 20 washes.
The sleeping bag is filled with gray goose down with a fill power of 800 cuin according to the EU standard. This corresponds to a fill power between 850 and 900 cuin for the US standard (such as Thermarest or Nemo). This premium quality allows for excellent thermal performance while keeping the sleeping bag relatively compact and lightweight. The Bloody Mary has 18 pre-cut tubular compartments to prevent thermal bridges.
Regarding maintenance, Valandré recommends hand washing with Marseille soap for localized stains. It is also possible to machine wash it with natural or special down soap. The brand also offers a cleaning service to avoid any risk of damage.
The Valandré Bloody Mary sleeping bag features:
- A model awarded the Gold prize at the Outdoor Industry Award

- Can be joined with the Bloody Mary, Chill Out, and Swing models with an opposite zip (on the right)
