Ariane Pehrson

Growing up in Sweden, Ariane remembers being immersed in nature, where the cold stings in winter and staying at home is not an option. Vast expanses of snow, lakes, forests - every landscape is a playground and sport is a philosophy. But against all odds, she was drawn to water sports and became a sports educator specialising in sailing in France.

At the same time, she has always been attracted to the world of entrepreneurship: building a project, being free to make your own decisions and organising your business without having to put up with it. She learnt all about it at school and through her experiences in the corporate world.

Then she took the plunge and set up a company importing Swedish products... which turned out to be a failure.  But it was a rich learning experience! Combining her different experiences and passions, the most French of the Swedish women from Lorient took the helm of a ship called Freezedried & Co.

The Offshore Racing Centre in Lorient

Right in the heart of the ‘Bretagne Sailing Valley’, the Offshore Racing Centre in Lorient is a major centre for competitive sailing. The former submarine base, closed since 1992, has been transformed into a centre of attraction where renowned skippers such as Franck Cammas, Samantha Davies, Armel Le Cléach and Jérémie Beyou rub shoulders with the future talents of the sailing world. This basin brings together design offices, construction sites and companies with expertise in deck fittings, seamanship, not forgetting provisioning. Freezedried & Co has moved three times, but will remain in this heartland, where the feedback and demands of sailors are just as valuable to a mountain dweller on his way up as they are to a humanitarian in a hard-to-reach area.
