Although Petzl was founded in 1975, its adventure began much earlier. In the 1930s, Fernand Petzl, a craftsman by profession, had a passion for caving. He put his craft skills to good use, and years later produced a solution for ascending and descending in the dark. He launched his first products in his workshop in 1968. It was only 7 years later that the company was officially founded.

Since then, the French company has grown into an international group. A true headlamp specialist, Petzl is constantly creating innovative solutions that enable outdoor enthusiasts to perform, even in the dark. Today, Petzl employs 750 people worldwide, including 500 in France. French know-how, recognized by all outdoor sports enthusiasts.
