This remote stove works great in cold weather. Supplied with a windscreen, snow and wind will no longer be an obstacle when you want to cook.
Description
If you're looking for versatility, then the MSR WindPro 2 remote gas stove is definitely for you. This stove can be used in two ways: either in the normal position, or in the reverse position. This allows you to cook in any situation.
In the normal position, all you have to do is screw the cartridge to the supply hose. The MSR WindPro 2 will have less power than in the inverted position. But this can be useful for summer hiking. This will enable you to slip just the stove into your backpack (without the other accessories) and thus lighten its weight (187 g for the stove alone).
In inverted position, the cartridge is screwed to the feed tube and turned upside down. A support is supplied to hold it upside down. This process allows the gas to become liquid. Since gas is sensitive to cold, the fact that it becomes liquid means you can cook even in sub-zero temperatures (down to -20°C). By using the windscreen and heat reflector, you'll protect the flame and considerably improve the stove's efficiency. Boiling time will be reduced and you'll save fuel.
Overall, the MSR WindPro 2 remote stove offers excellent stability thanks to its lower center of gravity than traditional PocketRocket 2 stoves. Combined with the three wide, serrated handles, you'll be able to use a saucepan with a diameter of 25 cm without risk of falling. This stove is ideal for use alone or in a group.
Finally, its other features are in line with those of all MSR stoves. It takes just 3 minutes and 40 seconds to boil 1 L of water. Compact and lightweight (317 g with all accessories, including carrying case), the WindPro 2 remote stove fits into a 1-liter saucepan. The precise flame setting lets you heat water for freeze-drying or cook fresh food.
The MSR WindPro II remote gas stove is :
- A 4-season stove
- Ideal for high-altitude treks and bivouacs
- For 1 to 4 people
Note: below -20°C, we recommend using a multi-fuel stove.
