You might think that this gas lighter is less versatile than a lighter, since it doesn't make flames. But for the same weight, it provides a service that I really appreciate: getting as close as possible to the burner to light the gas. This makes it possible to do so with a ridiculously low flow rate, which has the dual effect of not burning your fingers, and also, and above all, of not having large, untimely and dangerous flames when you're obliged to pop in the tent or apse. This long length also makes it easier to light my stove, where the burner is hidden by a home-made windscreen.
