Emergency Food wholemeal bread is :
- Traditional wholemeal bread without crust
- Pre-sliced, preservative-free
- Easy to open and close (no can opener required)

A very good product for those who like wholemeal bread. (Translated review)

Not yet tasted. I remain dubious between the packaging's use-by date (2025) to comply with legislation and the use-by date promised by the site. I'll give the product a chance, I'm waiting for it to comply with the classic volkbrot. (Translated review)

Thinly sliced, rubbery texture (I like it), slight Play-Doh smell, a little dry, "Christian choking", not great... But with a good piece of cheese or pâté on top, it's fine. I still recommend it for its very long shelf life. (Translated review)

Admittedly, the taste and texture of this German black bread have nothing in common with those of your usual baguette, and may displease some people, but when the going gets tough, this product will do just fine! Eaten with butter, jam, honey, spreads, chocolate, cheese, ham, sausage, pâté, corned beef, gherkins, sardines in oil, onions, avocados, preserved tomatoes, etc. (not all at the same time, of course), it ends up being quite "commestible". (Personally, I like to put it in the oven to melt a piece of cantal cheese, crumble it into a good vegetable soup or spread it with pâté (with slices of gherkin). The fact that the bread is pre-sliced is very practical, especially if rationing is to be implemented; although the slices are rather thin, eating two per meal seems sufficient to me, given the "density" of the product. Finally, I think it's preferable to stock wholemeal and rye bread in equal proportions, in order to maintain a certain variety; it's also a good idea to build up your stock gradually, with preserves from different batches (in case one goes bad).
