Your daily life in the desert
This pack is perfectly adapted to the requirements of the Marathon des Sables, i.e. 2000 kcal per day. You are free to supplement the pack with your usual sports nutrition (drinks and/or energy bars, for example).
Breakfast: this is the source of energy to start the race. Based on muesli to provide carbohydrates and fiber, it's quick to prepare and digest.
Race finish: tabbouleh as a complement to a compote for the finish, easy to prepare cold and also highly digestible. You can also add dried meat, which promotes muscle recovery and is rich in salts to compensate for losses due to perspiration.
Dinner (evening): a hot, hearty meal, as the nights are cool (below 10°C), and a dessert to top up the energy intake and provide comfort after your stage.
For the MDS, meals on arrival at camp, on your last day and on the rest day after the long stage are included in the pack. If you are not registered for this race, these meals correspond to 3 days of freeze-dried meals, including 3 breakfasts, 6 full meals and 2 desserts. These meals can be used during your training, for a weekend hike, or for other events such as the TransPyreneA or RacingThePlanet ultra-marathons(4 Deserts).
Meals adapted to race conditions
Meals are designed to be easily digestible, with little or no spices 🌶️, to avoid irritation of the stomach and intestines, which are already under strain during the race. With the exception of lunch on the 7th rest day, which can offer a touch of the exotic without compromising runners' performance.
Focus on calorie intake and weight
In this pack, the products chosen have the best weight/calorie ratio.
- Calories: 14,000 kcal or 2,000 kcal per day (average).
- You'll need to add the gels or snacks of your choice.
- Total net weight (raw food without sachet): 3.25 kg (not including the first day and the second day before the first stage). The complete pack without packaging is 3.9 kg and with packaging 4.7 kg.
💡 We recommend repackaging your meals just before the race for a grain of volume and weight. Remember to keep the recipe name and nutritional value labels on your packets for inspection purposes.
Our offer is designed to suit everyone, including special diets. Our sales department is at your disposal to draw up a quotation and adapt the pack to your needs.
