Tarptent's Stratospire 2 (mesh) is an ultralight trekking tent for 2 people. It is unique in that it can be pitched with poles, yet is double-walled. This offers two advantages. Firstly, the mosquito net acts as a barrier against condensation, the main problem with single-wall tents. Your gear will stay dry. Secondly, pole-mounted tents are lighter than conventional dome tents, because they don't need a pole.

The 2-seater version with mosquito net weighs just 1154 grams (sardines not included). As for dimensions, the StratoSpire 2 is 122 cm high, 132 cm wide and 218 cm long. This allows two 64 cm-wide mattresses to be fitted without worry. The manufacturer points out that the length is ideal for people under 1.93 m tall. The StratoSpire 2 also has a hexagonal floor. This design offers greater wind resistance.

In terms of materials, the fly is made from 20-denier nano ripstop polyester, then treated with silicone to ensure waterproofing. The floor, meanwhile, is made of 30-denier nylon 66 double ripstop and also coated with silicone to give a water column of 3000 mm.
