Spanish company 226ers specializes in sports nutrition and has developed a chocolate-flavored protein shake for post-exercise recovery.
Composition under the microscope :
- Around 40% protein to nourish muscles after exercise (milk proteins come from grass-fed cows that have received no antibiotics or growth hormones).
- Around 40% carbohydrates, in particular amylopectin (derived from potato starch), a rapidly assimilated carbohydrate for energy boost.
- L-Arginine: an amino acid that promotes blood flow and muscle repair
- Creatine: a protein that increases muscular strength, reduces fatigue and improves attention span
- Flaxseed: rich in omega-3s, vitamins and fiber.
- Medium-chain triglycerides: rapidly absorbed by the body to provide quick energy or replenish glycogen reserves.

How to prepare 226ers Recovery Drink
The sachet contains a 50-gram monodose, equivalent to a 500-ml drink. The brand recommends mixing a small amount of water with the powder for better dilution, shaking well and topping up with the remaining volume of water. This milkshake should be consumed within 45 minutes of exercise.
