Description

The Zpacks Plex Solo is a 1-person tent weighing in at just 395g. It's also very compact (28 x 12.7 cm), making it ideal for hikers looking for comfortable shelter without taking up too much space. This model can accompany you on a multi-day trek in the mountains, or on a weekend hike in the forest.

What's special about the Plex Solo is that it doesn't have a hoop. To set it up, you'll need hiking poles, which serve as stakes to raise the roof. Guy ropes (supplied) and pegs (sold separately) will secure the tent to the ground.

The Zpacks Plex Solo is a single-wall tent, which saves weight. You'll need to make sure it's well ventilated to prevent condensation. This model is also non-self-supporting. Sardines/haubans are therefore required for mounting.

In terms of materials, the Plex Solo is made from dyneema. Dyneema is becoming increasingly popular in the outdoor world. Why? It's stronger and lighter than the nylon found on most tents. What's more, Dyneema® is waterproof. It does not require polyurethane or silicone treatment. The water column for the roof is 15,000 mm, rising to 20,000 mm for the ground. More than enough to sleep through the rain.

As for openings, this Zpacks tent has an entrance and an apse. The mosquito net is equipped with a rainbow zip. As for the door, it consists of two parts (left and right) that can be attached to a metal hook. You can close only one side of the door if you wish, for example, to protect yourself from the wind.
