This Japanese saw from Silky cuts fresh wood to light a campfire or build a cabin.
Description
The reputation of the Silky brand is well established. The Japanese brand is renowned in bushcraft and outdoor circles for the quality of its saws. Compact, lightweight and above all efficient are the adjectives that describe its models.
The Pocketboy 170-10 is, as its name suggests, a pocket saw. Its 170 mm blade can be folded and stored in the handle to save space. You can practically carry it in your pocket. Alternatively, the transparent case supplied can be clipped to a belt or backpack.
The flexible, sturdy blade cuts logs up to 8.5 cm in diameter. Ideal for feeding a campfire. Thanks to its patented Mirai-Me technology, the Pocketboy 170-10 can be used for 3 types of sawing: cross-cutting (perpendicular to the grain of the wood), longitudinal cutting (in the direction of the grain of the wood) or even diagonal cutting.
In terms of materials, the handle is made of GOM rubber, offering excellent grip (with gloves or in wet weather) while absorbing vibrations. The blade, meanwhile, is made from genuine Japanese steel. The surface has then been chrome-plated to reinforce its robustness and extend its lifespan. Chrome protects against rust and resin.
The Silky Pocketboy 170-10 folding saw features :
- 170 mm blade with 10 teeth every 30 mm
- Replaceable blade in case of wear and tear
- Lifetime warranty against material and manufacturing defects
Note: when cutting wood on the ground, avoid cutting a healthy tree.
